Location Situated in the island of Ajishima, Miyagi Prefecture, Northeastern Honshu on the Pacific Ocean coast. The length of the island is 18.3 kilometers and it has about 650 inhabitants. The Inn is an initiative Mrs. and Dr. Sotome and the staff of Tochinoki Byoin (Hospital) in Tochigi City, north of Tokyo. The younger people of this beautiful island started leaving the island gradually creating a problem in health care for the graying population. Together with the population they converted a school into a clinic to provide the necessary medical care. For staff and guests an Inn was created and it was also made available for visitors to the island
Getting there From Tokyo > Take the Tohoku Shinkansen (1 hour 50 minutes) > Sendai From Sendai > Take the Sensekisen (50 minutes) > Sekimaki From Sekimaki > Take the bus (90 minutes) > Ayunokawa At the port of Ayunokawa you will find a Ferry Boat that will take you to Ajishima in about 25 minutes.
It is also possible to take a Ferry Boat from Sekimaki to Ajishima. The ride takes about 45 minutes.

Rates
Ajishima resort offers half pension. This means that dinner can be prepared, however breakfast and lunch will have to be prepared on a "self-service" basis.
